Art bike tour, September 11th!

This Sunday, Sopo will be leading a bicycle tour around Atlanta encouraging cyclists to come ride along and view the art-bikes on display around town.  As we have frames hanging in neighborhoods all around the city we thought it would be best to split the ride into two groups.  The first group will visit all of the farthest away locations and then meet up with additional riders for lunch and then visit the more central venues.

Riders wishing to ride along for the full tour will be meeting at Joe’s Coffee in East Atlanta Village around 10:30am Sunday morning.  We will plan to leave EAV around 11am and begin our ride to Decatur, stopping at Sun In My Belly and then Java Monkey.  From Decatur, we will shoot straight through Midtown and Georgia Tech and head to the Westside to visit Octane Coffee.  After leaving Octane we will cut south and through Downtown on our way to Candler Park where we will be meeting up at the Radial Cafe for lunch.

We plan to arrive at lunch around 1pm.  Please RSVP at the link below so we can let our friends at Radial know how many tables to set aside for weary cyclists.  We encourage everyone to come out for lunch and hope to be back on the road around 2pm.

The second half of the ride will be at a more leisurely pace with a larger group of people but still will cover around 10 miles of Atlanta streets.  We will head from Radial to Doctor Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party and then head north through Candler Park and up the PATH trail to North Highland Ave.  We will then visit the Plaza Theater and turn around, heading to Little Five Points.  There will be a brief stop at Java Lords and then we will continue on down to Inman Park, stopping at Victory Sandwich Bar before heading through the Krog Tunnel to Reynoldstown.  We will visit Parkgrounds Coffee and then head around the corner to Homegrown before heading down Memorial Drive on our way out to Castleberry Hill.

We will be ending the ride at the Elliot Street Pub, just in time to settle down and make some paper ghost lanterns for the Krewe of Grateful Gluttons and Atlanta Bicycle Coalitions Ghost Rider Chase, as part of the FLUX Parade.
