Thanks to all who came out Friday evening!
I was leading a group of friends and we showed up a little late but luckily free Red Bull distracted the rest of the group on the side of North Highland Ave. From there we rode to Java Lords in Little Five Points. We all stopped in and hung out for a bit, getting to know each other.
On the way to Elliot Street Pub someone had the amazing idea to swing through downtown and see the DragonCon festivities. We had a full team of Ghost Busters, several stormtroopers, zombies, and many other anime and video game themed costumes I couldnt recognize. Our small group responded happily to calls of ‘Happy Friday’ by bystanders without cycles but obviously in the know.
We eventually meandered by the Centennial Olympic Park and the GA Dome and ended over at Elliot Street Pub. The owners dragged a bunch of patio furniture out for us and we had a nice dinner, banquet style under the Atlanta skyline.
The ride to Octane went well as we were continually pacing a van full of youngsters who were happy to see us cycling up Marietta Street. The coffee shop was packed full of locals coming to check out the new exhibition by PLF. His bicycle frame was hanging in the front window for all to see!
There was a pretty terrible accident on Marietta St on the way home that we were guided around by police officers on duty but the rest of the ride was smooth. Lots of GSU students out and about celebrating their win!
All in all it was a good start to art-bike month!
